Meditation Class

Meditation and Mindfulness Fundraiser for Morpeth Public School

Join Skye Stewart and Lance Baker for an evening of meditation, mindfulness, and practical skills for calming a busy or restless mind.

This class is designed for beginners and will offer simple, accessible tools that can be used in everyday life to support greater calm, presence, emotional balance, and mental clarity.

100% of ticket sales will be donated to the Morpeth Public School P&C.

Morpeth Public School is currently in the lowest funded category of the FOEI system, which means government funding is allocated on the assumption that the local community is able to provide stronger financial support. Skye and Lance have decided to offer this class as a way of giving back to the school community, sharing practical meditation and mindfulness skills while helping to support the school financially.

About Skye Stewart

Skye is a registered psychologist who was first introduced to Mindfulness for Health and Healing 25 years ago. She initially studied under the tutelage of John Barter, who brought together his direct experience as both a Buddhist monk and psychologist, and who established centres around the world teaching meditation.

Skye continued to develop her understanding through the work of Thich Nhat Hanh and Jon Kabat Zinn. She has used mindful meditation both as a stand alone tool and alongside Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, also known as ACT.

She has provided mindfulness meditation training to small groups in corporate and first responder settings, and has coached people in using mindfulness for pain management. Through this work, Skye has developed a deep appreciation for mindfulness as a versatile and practical tool for wellbeing.

Skye now offers regular weekly teachings in Speers Point.
